How do I add audiobooks?

Tap + in the Library and choose files or a folder. You can also use the Files app (On My iPhone → Spinetale), Finder (iPhone → Files → Spinetale), “Open in” from other apps, or Settings → Wi-Fi transfer to send books from your computer's browser (with a 6-digit PIN). Every folder is one book; files inside are the chapters, in name order.

Which formats work?

MP3, M4A, M4B, AAC, FLAC, WAV and AIFF. iOS cannot play OGG, OPUS or WMA files. Files protected by DRM cannot be played.

I have no audiobooks to try

In Settings (or on the empty Library) tap “Add the sample book”: a short book with three chapters is added so you can try chapters, speed, equalizer and sleep timer.

How do covers work?

Spinetale uses an image in the book's folder, then the cover embedded in the audio. You can change it from the book's ••• menu → Details and cover: search Open Library, choose from Photos or Files.

How does the free trial work?

Start the 14-day trial from the first screen or from Settings. When it ends you can still browse your library and statistics, but you can no longer play or add books until you unlock Spinetale with a one-time purchase. Use “Restore purchase” if you reinstall or change iPhone. The unlock can be shared with your family through Family Sharing.

The sleep timer

Choose minutes or “end of chapter”. The volume fades out at the end. Shake your phone (with the app open) to restart the timer.
